Ingredients

  • 3 cups Chex rice cereal

  • 1/2 cup finely crushed candy canes
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions


1. Melt the chocolate
— In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter (or coconut oil).
— Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat.

2. Mix the cereal
— Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
— Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal, gently folding with a spatula until all the cereal is fully coated.

3. Add the Oreos and candy canes
— Add the chopped peppermint Oreos and crushed candy canes to the bowl.
— Gently mix to combine, ensuring they stick to the chocolate-coated cereal.

4. Coat with powdered sugar
— Add the powdered sugar to a large zip-top bag or a large container with a lid.
— Add the chocolate-coated cereal mixture to the bag, seal, and shake vigorously until everything is well coated in powdered sugar.

5. Serve and store
